The purpose of the Lancaster County Veteran of the Year Award is to recognize a living Lancaster County Veteran who has not only served his/her country with honor but has used the leadership skills and abilities learned in service to the nation to better the community through selfless volunteer service to Lancaster County.
The purpose of the Lancaster County Patriot of the Year Award is to recognize a living Lancaster County non-veteran who demonstrated exceptional service to the County’s veterans and veteran community through selfless volunteer service.
Nominations for the awards are accepted by the Lancaster County Veterans Council from August 1 through September 30 of each year. The Lancaster County Veterans Council commissions a panel of veterans and community leaders to review and select the Veteran of the Year from the eligible candidates. The awards will be present at a veteran event to be determined yearly.
Please submit nominations for each category by providing letter naming the person, with details of why you are nominating them. For Veteran nominees please provide a copy of their DD214.
